ESEA x Drawversity: Harmony in Hues Figure Drawing

Jade Hylton

Conceived and led by artist & Draw tutor Jade Hylton, Drawversity is a figure model class that focuses on introducing more black models and people of colour to the world of figure modelling.

In this one-off event, Drawversity will be teaming up with ESEA Life Drawing - a London-based figure drawing class working with ESEA (East and South-East Asian) models and artists. ESEA Life Drawing was co-founded and run by artists Wing Kei Hoang and Kelly Tran.

This session aims to cultivate more diversity in Brighton’s figure drawing scene, creating a more inclusive portrayal of the art and the artists. These sessions are clothed, giving artists the opportunity to draw the clothed figure, or portrait, with the option of the model posing unclothed if they prefer. The session is open to all abilities & levels of experience. Jade, Wing Kei and Kelly will be on hand to offer any help you need.

You are welcome to pre-book, or drop in on the day - to get a discount on this session, just sign up to become a Draw Patreon supporter from just £3.60 per month HERE

How will it work?

When you arrive at New England House you’ll need to come to the main doors next to the Building Managers Office on Level 3 and call the number on the door to be admitted. Once you’re at the session you’ll need to show a digital or printed receipt as proof of booking, then you’re ready to go! We will take a short tea break half way through the session. Drawing boards, chairs and easels will be provided along with free drawing materials; paper is available to buy on the day from the in-studio shop.
