In this rigorous two-day workshop acclaimed tutor and author of ‘Figure Drawing’ Jake Spicer will lead you through structural approaches to drawing the figure taken from his book. Combining practical exercises, demonstrations and personal feedback this hands-on workshop is suitable for people with some previous life drawing experience looking to develop their skills further and for more experienced artists seeking to refresh their practice.
The session will start at 10am and you are welcome to arrive from 9:45am. When you arrive at New England House you’ll need to come to the main doors next to the Building Managers Office on Level 3 and call the number in your booking email to be admitted. Once you’re at the session you’ll need to show a digital or printed receipt as proof of booking, then you’re ready to go. All materials and equipment will be provided, so you just need to bring yourself and plenty of energy! We’ll be working from an unclothed life model all weekend we will take a lunch break halfway through the day – you are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or to pop to the nearby Sainsbury’s, or a café on London road.

This session costs £180, or £150 for students & Patreon supporters – after materials and model’s fees, all money raised goes towards supporting the Draw studio. If you can’t afford to come to the session, please get in touch and we will find a way to help.
Even if you’ve never done any life drawing before you’re welcome to come along to this untutored session! If you’d like to learn some skills first, you might want to sign up to the online life drawing course on the Draw Patreon (available to all Life Drawing & Student tier supporters) or look out for upcoming tutored weekend courses.
