Lancelot Richardson

Lancelot Richardson is an artist, illustrator and tutor based in Brighton. Drawing is the core of his artistic practise, where he works in a variety of media, and he is also a keen painter. Lance has been teaching drawing and painting for over 9 years, and is one of the leads for Brighton Urban Sketchers. 

Lancelot is one of our key tutors at Draw, running the popular Thursday 7-9pm in-person life drawing sessions at the Open House in Brighton every week, as well as regular weekend workshops. Lance is also the host of the weekly Tuesday evening Portrait Club at the Open House.

What Lance says about his own work:
“I am an artist working across a variety of visual media including drawing, painting and printmaking. Life drawing forms a core part of my practise of observational drawing, that feeds into more imagined subject matter. I think the practise of drawing to be a wonderfully bottomless pit – there is always more to learn.”
