ETC Artist Talk: Roy Eastland

In the latest in our ETC online talks, Jake Spicer will be chatting to the artist Roy Eastland about the ideas and attitudes that underpin life drawing. Roy is a Kent based artist who uses drawing to explore themes of human presence, memory and trace in his work. Best known for his acclaimed silver point drawings, Eastland is a keen proponent of life drawing which he teaches at Margate Adult Education centre and here at Draw Brighton. In this one-off conversation, Eastland will be discussing his approach to drawing from the figure while sharing images of his own work. Roy Eastland’s work has been selected for the prestigious The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, Jerwood Drawing Prize, RBSA Drawing Prize, ING Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary and BP Portrait Award among many others.
