For the second artist interview in our Spring term, Draw’s Head Tutor Jake Spicer will be talking with artist and illustrator Sarah Dyer. The event is free and everybody is welcome, so please feel free to share this link as widely as you would like.
Sarah Dyer is an artist and illustrator with a passion for capturing narrative and sequence within her work. She graduated from Kingston with a BA in Illustration & Animation in 2001, and her first book Five Little Fiends won several awards and was translated into 10 languages. She has gone on to write and illustrate nine more picture books for Bloomsbury, Frances Lincoln, Otter Barry Books & Tate, and a series of non-fiction books for Templar.
Sarah enjoys experimenting in mixed media in sketchbooks to further her artistic practice, and has taught up to MA level for 20 years, currently teaching on the Foundation Course at Kingston University. In 2021, Sarah set up a Patreon to share her practice as an illustrator and artist, but also use her teaching skills to encourage others to enjoy drawing and find their own visual language.
