Etc. Artist Talk: Phoebe Leach

Join the online talk with THIS LINK

This month, our artist interview series will see Draw’s Jake Spicer talking with figurative painter and printmaker Phoebe Leach.  The event is free and everybody is welcome, so please feel free to share this link as widely as you would like.

About Phoebe Leach

Phoebe Leach is an Edinburgh-based artist who uses the processes of drawing, printmaking and painting to explore meaningful human connections in her work.  Phoebe documents individuals engaging with tasks, environments and one another – and since October 2024, she has been the resident artist in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.  This work celebrates the surgical team whilst helping patients create a narrative to understand their experiences.

"The intersection of art and medicine underscores the profound human connections that define our approaches to care and creativity. I hope this project sheds light on the unseen space of the operating theatre and demystifies the experience for patients and families.”
– Phoebe Leach, Artist

An award-winning graduate from Edinburgh College of Art, Phoebe has exhibited across the UK including the Scottish Portrait Awards, RBA Rising Stars, RP Drawing Prize and the Mall Galleries ‘Beyond The Prize’.  In 2025, Phoebe won the Elizabeth Greenshield Foundation Award and was shortlisted for the Singulart Prize Best Artist Under 30.
