This one-day crash courses is intended to make printmaking as accessible as possible. If you’re curious about printmaking, but not sure where to start then this workshop will act as a signpost to direct you towards the process that best suit the work you want to make, all under the expert guidance of artist & author, Scarlett Rebecca.
Over the course of this fun and fast-paced day you’ll explore the potential of printmaking, making three prints using three different printmaking processes. You’ll be introduced to three of the main printmaking families; relief print, intaglio print and planographic print. Using the collection of printmaking presses on offer at Draw, we will explore collagraph, drypoint and kitchen lithography, finishing the day with three small print editions.
The session is open to all abilities & levels of experience and Scarlett will be on hand to guide you through the processes and to offer help and informal feedback throughout the day. If you want to continue printmaking after this session, Scarlett will give you instructions on how to print at home without a press and details of local print workshops you can join.
All materials will be provided. You will need to bring:
